  doing homework

keep on top of your schoolwork
  • Do it!

  • Prioritize--do what is "due" first

  • If you have a problem completing an assignment, contact your professor, TA, or other students in class before it's due. Don't expect a professor to be understanding if you arrive at class without your homework.

  • If you wait too long and run into a problem, it is your problem. Homework is your responsibility.

  • Get a notebook for each class.

  • If you finish your homework for the next day, look ahead and get a start on the next assignment.

  • "Big Projects" (i.e., papers)
    • Get your research done early.
    • Don't procrastinate.
    • If you have trouble (i.e., not enough on topic) ask your professor.
    • Back up your work.
    • If you saved your work on the hard drive, put it on a disc.
    • Print out a hard copy once you complete a large part of the paper (i.e, when you take a break).
    • Save periodically while typing, i.e., auto save.
    • Have someone else read/proof your work.
