  using a planner

  • Get one!!
    • They are free from the Registrar's Office (located by the ATM on the first floor of the Administration Building) until they run out.
    • They are sold at all area bookstores and are not expensive.
    • Keeps you organized and reduces stress.
    use a planner

  • Color code: Each color could be a class or a category, i.e., blue for academic work, pink for job commitments, yellow for personal responsibilities.

  • Record syllabi information at the beginning of the semester--tests, papers, quizzes, homework, readings.

  • Keep updating.

  • Check a week ahead--you will be prepared and can plan appropriately for upcoming assignments, tests, etc.

  • Keep it with you. Take it to class and work.

  • What type of planner would be best for you?
    • Some show all days of the week on a page or two.
    • Some show one day at a time on a page.
    • Some have enough room for to-do lists, or just enough room to note big exams.

  • Check or cross things off when you finish them.
